International Outreach provides a connection to others around the globe in matters of food, health and prosperity. We are able to help other women, men, and children around the world to lead safer and healthier lives. Many of our projects are hands-on activities which connect us directly to our “families” many, many miles away.
This organization provides cleft surgery and care in more than 30 countries. Volunteers including doctors and nurses set up temporary mobile surgery centers to change the lives of children and adults who were born with life threatening oral deformities. Our club has helped Operation Smile continue their successful mission in many ways.
Fleece Blankets- Our club members fringe, and knot cheerful, soft blankets which are given to each patient who undergoes surgery.
Office Supplies- Every mobile hospital unit carefully documents all patients, surgeries etc. We have collected enough supplies to furnish two complete surgery units.
Smile Bags- Club members have sewn colorful drawstring bags and filled them with specific requested items such as soap, wash cloth, comb and a mirror. Each patient will be able to begin his/her new life in a healthy manner.
Requested Children’s Items-We have collected and sent items such as coloring books, crayons and small toys to occupy children waiting for surgery.
DAYS FOR GIRLS
Reusable sanitary kits are put together for young women. Over one million girls have received these menstrual packets, enabling them to go to school and overcome isolation during their monthly menstruation. Our club members, cut fabric pieces, and sew components for these beautiful kits.
SOLES FOR SOULS
New and gently used shoes are collected and sent to needy recipients in other parts of the world. Some of the shoes are given directly to people to wear, and other shoes are used to help others establish micro businesses. Our club collects children’s shoes.
This organization works in 21 countries alongside local farmers and business owners. Families may be given a gift of animals, trees, bees or fish to name a few. Heifer International provides crucial training to help individuals and families turn these gifts into productive income. Each year our club chooses an area to donate to. Our donations have included chicks, ducklings, bees, women’s business initiatives and we always have fun finding new ways to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
